VIE SUP was first launched in 2019 with a small collection of SUP-inspired printed garments. Since then we have been creating sustainable SUP clothing for all your on-water adventures, including printed SUP t-shirts, hoodies and sweats. Here we answer a few of the frequently asked questions that we get about the VIE SUP brand and where we\u2019re heading in the future...<\/strong><\/p>

What does VIE SUP mean?<\/h3>

We are often asked what our name means and stands for. For us, the brand\u2019s name derives from the french word \u2018vie\u2019 which translates to \u2018life\u2019, \u2018living\u2019 or \u2018lifetime\u2019. We wanted the brand to celebrate the joy that stand up paddleboarding brings to so many people and the way it, literally, breathes new life into paddlers when they glide over the water. It also reflects how, for many of us, our lives revolve around stand up paddleboarding, and we live to get out on our boards whenever we can.\u00a0<\/p>

When did you begin stand up paddleboarding?<\/h3>

We discovered stand up paddleboarding back in 2007 in the spectacular bay of Bantham, Devon. It was a warm sunny evening, and a ripple of waves rolled into the bay. We played around on a mixture of rigid and inflatable prototype boards, to see if we could catch a wave. At first, the surf seemed too small, but with a few strokes of the paddle, we propelled ourselves along into the moving water, and gently glided towards the beach as the sun was setting over the headland - a dreamy introduction to SUP, for sure!\u00a0 And we've been hooked ever since. Whether we're paddling along our local river or catching waves at the beach, we love taking the SUPs for a ride.\"\"<\/p>

Why did you set up VIE SUP?<\/h3>

As we set out on our SUP adventures and got more and more excited about paddling, the more we wanted to celebrate our love for the sport. We wanted to live it, breathe it....wear it. But when we went in search of a stylish SUP t-shirt or hoodie that we could wear at the beach and maybe down to the pub, we realised that there wasn\u2019t much choice available. A few of the large paddleboard manufacturers had a small collection of SUP clothing, but nothing really jumped out at us. So, this is what sparked the idea to create some SUP clothing of our own. We wanted to create high-quality garments with SUP-inspired prints that celebrated stand up paddleboarding. We also wanted to offer sustainable SUP clothing so that we didn\u2019t harm the beautiful natural world that we love spending time in.<\/p>

\"\"What are your future goals for VIE SUP?<\/h3>

At the moment, our focus is on setting up the brand and spreading the word about what we do and the printed SUP t-shirts and sweats that we currently have available. In the future, we\u2019d love to expand our collection to include technical products that can enhance your time on the water, but we need to take one paddle stroke at a time. Watch this space!<\/p>
